Characters: -   Professor Ludwig Van Hussler.

 

Tom - Well spoken, bit naïve and unsure of himself,

Jason - Well spoken, acts a bit naive.

Julie - Intelligent.

Claire - Intelligent, Jason’s girl friend

                                                Tom and Jason are cousins.

 

Tony - Bogan, not very bright. Has a sense of self-centredness.

Dave - Florist, Neat casual dresser, soft spoken, emotional.

 

The following roles are small and can be split between two girls.

 

Girl 1 -            Lisa - Air Hostess, smart, neat dresser, Bored. (Small role)

Mary - School teacher. (Small role)

Daphne - Air hostess. (Minor role.)

 

Girl 2 -            Shirley - Neurologist, Intelligent, sarcastic. (Small role)

Mel - Sociologist. (Small role.)

Silvana - Bogan, like Tony. (Minor role.)

                                                Daphne and Silvana are cousins.

 

Martin - Tom’s father, Divorced, manager of employment centre.(Minor role)

Gwen - Claire’s mother, widow, Martin’s secretary, and agent at the centre.(Minor role)

Synopsis:

Professor Ludwig Van Hussler, a well-known lecturer on human behaviour is giving a talk on the ups and downs of dating among people, from simply getting the nerve to ask someone out to the more complex form of attending a dating seminar and meeting many possible partners.

 

Tom is nervously trying to work up the courage to ask Julie out on a date but the advice he is getting from his cousin Jason is not helping.  Even when Tom and Julie do go out, Jason’s friend Claire manages to make it even worse.

 

Tony tries dating seminars to meet new “chicks,” and bumps into Dave who is going through withdrawals after being dumped by his girlfriend Daphne two and a half years previous. Tony takes it on himself to help his new friend Dave get on with meeting those of the opposite sex.

 

Martin has finally worked up the courage to take his secretary Gwen out for dinner with the intent of introducing her to his son Tom, but things do not go as planned when uninvited guests arrive.
